I have moved my whole family from this practice due to the rude staff, poor quality treatment and overall performance of this surgery. The last episode was the last straw. I had to call 3 days in a row just to get an appointment.for my injured foot. where I wasn't even examined and told to get an x-ray. I got it done the very same day. I even saw them printing them so I felt I would be at last be sorted out. Ha! wrong. I called to ask if the doc had seen the x-ray (after many attempts). No. for 2 weeks I was calling to get a diagnosis and told the doctor "hadn't got around to looking at them yet". After I complained to the staff about the delay I was treated so badly on the phone I decided to move to another practice. that doctor quickly told me that I had multiple stress fractures and I am now in cast for 5 weeks. I was walking in pain for weeks because of the doctor not even looking at the x-ray. This is just one of many things I and my family have had to deal with at this surgery.

I came back early from holiday as I had some health concerns. I was able to get an appointment on the day. This ia a fantastic bonus that other practices should instigate. I have been a patient here for a very long time and I have been consistently impressed by the professionalism and care of the doctors.

Exceedingly difficult to get an appointment, the staff not helpful and not open to provide other alternatives to seeing doctors. It is impossible to get in line between 8:30 and 9 to get an appointment because the staff are busy processing patients who have been waiting by the door.

Overall I have had OK experiences with this surgery. Most of the doctors are fantastic, one or two are not. My worst experience was when I had a cardiac episode - I had no idea at the time if it was a heart attack, if it was life threatening etc. All I knew was days later having initially seen a doctor I was still feeling very unwell and the medication wasn't working. I spoke to a doctor who was dismissive, unhelpful and she told me 'the practice was very busy'. Later on I had to get emergency out of hours advice from A&E as my heart rate dropped to a dangerous level. I can honestly say this was probably the worst experience of my life - the doctor wasn't interested, I had yet to see a cardiologist and I had no idea how serious or otherwise my state of health was. There are several doctors at Crown Street who have that 'healing way' about them. They have shown an empathy and an attitude which itself is therapeutic in addition to whatever they prescribe. Being told the surgery is too busy is anti-therapeutic - I will never forget the isolation I felt when I told this by the Crown Street doctor. The reception staff are generally polite and helpful although I was called a liar by a receptionist when I was waiting 5 minutes in the queue and was told off for being 6 minutes late and didn't believe me about my queuing time. I perhaps should have arrived with more time to spare but you don't expect to be called a liar! The appointments system is a nightmare. It's actually easier to get FA Cup final tickets than get a morning, emergency appointment.
